Join Us for San José Clinic's 2024 Giving Day!
As we continue to honor the legacy of our visionary founder, Monsignor George T. Walsh, we invite you to join us for our fifth annual San José Clinic Giving Day on July 25th. This special day marks his birthday and our commitment to providing exceptional care to our community.
Known for his generosity and dedication to the community he served, Msgr. George T. Walsh helped establish a free clinic, la Clinic Gratuita, later named the Mexican Clinic and now San José Clinic.
In response to rising mortality rates among Houston's Mexican community, Msgr. Walsh recruited women from the Charity Guild of Catholic Women to assist in running la Clinic Gratuita.
While the Clinic is Msgr. Walsh's only lasting creation, he lived a life in service to his community. At the time of his death in 1933, the Clinic was regarded as one of the largest charity operations in Houston.
