Who We Serve
Serving as a Healthcare Safety Net to the Uninsured
San José Clinic is a regional healthcare facility, demonstrated by a patient population that comes from more than 200 zip codes across the Greater Houston area. The Clinic serves persons who have no form of health insurance and whose income is 200% of or below Federal Poverty Guidelines. San José Clinic serves persons of all ages, races and backgrounds and does not restrict access to only U.S. citizens. Ninety percent of Clinic patients are Hispanic, which influences the focus of many of the Clinic's programs. San José Clinic serves all who are in need equally, with respect and dignity.
Affordable healthcare is an absolute necessity for the families San José Clinic serves. Although most San José Clinic patients are employed, their employers do not usually provide health insurance. Based on a 40-hour week, these hard-working individuals simply cannot afford private health insurance and have trouble putting enough food on the table for their loved ones.
